Can I pierce my equipment?

Gear piercing is disabled in Idle Skies. You cannot add ordinary piercing slots to a suit, weapon or shield.

Do not buy a suit or weapon piercing card expecting to add that system's bonuses here.

What still uses sockets?

Pet beads and ultimate weapon gems are separate systems. Disabling gear piercing does not remove them.

Other ways to improve gear

Use upgrading, armor awakening, gear rarity and set bonuses. Eligible weapons also have the Weapon Stat Wheel.
